I too was suddenly hired by I-cordis. But I didn't lose anything-I began to suspect when they hired me in Teams and then it was like 30 minutes later and I was hired and nobody does that. They sent me a check to buy my "work at Home" office and that was a bell ringing. And I don't have a printer so I told them I would get it printed-I had some errands to run. The bank told me that if I deposited the check I would be held responsible if it where to not be legal. So there you go. Also one of the other bells to go off was that I would be working on a Mac Book and that didn't make sense to me. Also companies that have people working from home will have the laptops and printers to send to their new employee and usually a printer is not a part of it. I also found this-which was helpful-and I just am not falling for it.

I received a job offer from I-Cordis on January 3, 2024. I received the first check from them (Youth Golf Of Northwest Arkansas). I deposited the first check in the amount of $3,780.33 and was then told to proceed to a store that sold cards for Apple, yes my intuition was this was a scam but since the check cleared I thought nothing of it. This went on for another 3-4 days receiving two more checks in the amount of $2,950.77 and $9,950.77. Again I was tasked with getting Apple gift cards in the amount of $500 each or totaling $500 depending on the store I was purchasing them from. I was to take a picture of the card and the receipt and send it to them via the teams chat. I have documentation to back all this up. This morning (1/10/24) I was tasked again to purchase more cards, since the last check of $9.950.77 had not yet cleared the bank I called to find out what the delay was and was told by Navy Federal Credit Union that the account associated with the checks was closed. I immediately knew I was scammed. I contacted the company though teams and told them that I would not be continuing with getting Apple cards and I was reporting them to the BBB.
