I am not a resident of Illinois but have an Illinois phone number. Received the same link that others have indicated from a number with a South Carolina area code. I looked at the form just to be sure and saw it asking for personal information (most notably my social security number), thus confirming my suspicion that it was a scam.

I've received serverap texts from them wanting me to validate my Illinois drivers license. The thing is that I don't even have an Illinois drivers license yet because I haven't switched from Indiana yet. However, my permanent address at this time is Illinois.

I recently paid to renew my driver’s license through the DMV website.
Now I just received a text that says I have to validate the information. It’s probably my neighbor through Bluetooth that is stealing my information and sending me these scams. They are Indian!

Received was clearly a scam text from some people impersonating IDOT. Asking me to click on their link to validate my drivers license. First of all They would never send that via text it would be through a letter . And 2nd that wouldn’t come from IDOT it would come from the Secretary of State.

I received the same scam txt. I guess the funniest part about this is that it was sent to my Google Voice number that is only 7 days old and IDOT would not have this number associated with my DL. Also, I am an Indiana resident with an Indiana DL.

I received at text from (IDOT) Illinois Department of Trasportation Imposter 7/2/21 at 6:23 It definitely looks like a scam because first and foremost my drivers license is fine.
