I was given a job-offer for a part-time data-entry clerk position, remote, at IGAN Biosciences. After foolishly providing my name, gender, DOB, address, cell-number and e-mail address, I was 'hired,' at which point they sent me a check worth $1950 with which to purchase office-supplies. They asked me to send an image of the front and NOTARIZED back of the check (I blacked out my account-number before sending), and an image of the deposit confirmation receipt. They did not ask for SSN or bank / routing information (which would presumably make them a higher target for law-enforcement), but they did send me a link to kikofficesupplies.com, where I could deposit money, or alternatively a Zelle address. I refused to send money until my bank could confirm that the check was valid, and, feeling suspicious and researching, learned that this was a common scam and that this check was almost certainly going to bounce.
