I received a letter from the Illinois I Pass with a QR Code to activate my new transponder STICKER. I used the QR Code and as part of the activation process, it asked to update my credit card information as well as it asked for my user ID and password for the site. I entered my credit card information and it says it was declined, thinking it meant it wasn't a valid credit card, I thought that was what was needed so I entered it a few times. The QR Code process didn't allow me to finish the activation process. Fortunately my Bank America VISA caught it immediately, declined the charges and disabled the card. There were two charges from Germany and two from Cyprus. I called to active the new sticker and reported the QR Code scam problems.
