Illumina Inc Reports & Reviews (4)

Almost got caught up in the scam. Things went all to well. Everything the same as everyone else mentioned. Red flag when they emailed me the employment acceptance letter at 12am. I immediately began researching this company on linked, indeed, and glass door. I give this website and my suspicions were true. I'm glad i didn't send them any my my info outside of my email and temporary address...

I have had the same exact experience. Same app had to be downloaded and All the same tasks asked of me as previous private complaint. I today, which is day 4, was sent an email saying I was FedExed a envelope with a check and it was for purchasing working equipment and to deduct my pay from the remaining balance. FedEx security red flagged the envelope for fraud. At least I'm only out a weeks worth of pay but it does worry me these people do have pertinent information of mine. This supposed Bob Ragusa and Katherine Reeves are not who they say they are. Why would the COO of a company be doing this type of work? I looked them and several other employees including the CEO. With a background that the real people have, there is no way this is legit. Also the envelope I received was coming from a person by the name of Jenny Holmes in New York.

The same exact thing is going on with me now

I applied for a remote job on Indeed.com and within a few days someone texted me supposedly from Illumina Inc. They said their name was Kathryne Reeves and that person told me to download the Telegram app so that Bob Ragusa could interview me. I downloaded the app and this Bob person started asking me questions in the interview like where was your last job? How much customer experience do you have? He was asking normal questions and around 10am he messaged me saying you got the job. For the next 2 weeks he emailed me everyday at 9am saying this is your task for the day. It would consist of me writing 2 page papers in a 3 hour time slot. One day it was what does a data analyst do and another day it was explain the effects on COVID-19 in the US. On the 4th day, he emailed me an e-check to deposit on my mobile phone for Foster Homes that they support. So, I went ahead and printed the check and mobile deposited it. 2 days later I was asked to take the deposit and use it for a money order one was for $1,000 and the other was for $1,300. Then he sent me another one a week later, but it didn't go through. He wanted me to go to Walgreens and buy $1,000 worth of Google Play Cards and I could only buy $700 at Walgreens and then went to Safeway to buy $300 in Google Play Cards. He messaged me later that day and said that the foster homes received your money order and gift cards. The second check bounced in my account and the first one I deposited bounced as well. They sent me a check for a company called Anvil Mechanical that has a closed account which is why the checks bounced. Leaving me with a negative bank account balance because I didn't know I was being scammed. I called Illumina and they couldn't even give me a description of what their company does. This person is impersonating Illumina Inc as well as Bob Ragusa and Kathryne Reeves. I'm out $5,000 because of this scammer and there's no way for me to get my money back. After looking up what the Telegram app is, I've found out that it's an app that hackers use to communicate with people. For 2 weeks of supposedly working for that company, I wish I had known sooner that it was a scam because I would have never said yes to doing it if it was.
