Type of a scam Identity Theft
I received a message from my friend Magdalena Flynn saying that something great had happened and that she wanted to share. I told her what happened. She said that she found a company that was giving grants to help with everyday life expenses medical, food, lodging, etc. I told her really and to give me more details she said that she got a 50K grant and that the only thing she had to pay was the charges to take the check to your house. I told her I was interested and that if I can get some more information. She said I will tell Robert Brown to contact you. And right away this person contacted me and sends me a friend request. Telling me about the company he worked for and the benefits of applying. And my wrong being was that I was/am in desperate need of the money. I said if there was any forms needed to fill out and said that it was on line I asked for the website and he said he will fill the application thru Facebook. I felt uneasy, I keep asking I asked how can you help me and my bank, friends or family can’t. So, then I felt for it and gave him all my information name, address, phone number, email, Facebook user and password and then FB closed down and logged me out and couldn’t get in any longer. It was then I figure out that it was a SCAM and that I have felt to it right and center. The following days were horrible trying to get in to my FB, Messenger, and Instagram with no luck. Messages came up that the user and password were changed. But, I didn’t make any changes. So, right away I told my friends and family about what had happened thru other means of communication (Text) and not to accept anything coming in with my name, because my case was hacked. The worse is that one of my cousins (Lucy Diaz) was contacted by me (Robert Brown) also saying that I have found a company that was giving out grants for almost no money down. I told her that it was the hacker not to accept anything or give information out. And asked her like a favor to place a message in FB for my other friends and family to know about what was going on. Not only were my social media accounts hacked now my daughters and sons accounts are also because they are connected to my email. I am so mad to myself. I had to change passwords, user names in all my accounts on-line and I even changed my cell number so this company or person can’t contact me.
Today, is day two December 10, 2015 of this scam my daughter Instagram was hacked. Like my daughter said “You ruined my life” and I did.
