When I found this in my mailbox about 20 minutes ago, I knew immediately something wasn’t right! I did receive a text this morning asking if I was ready for my first assignment and to text the number letting know yes or no! They kept texting me to confirm. That was earlier today. Boom, it’s 3:00p EST and I get this priority mailed envelope with only a check and instructions. It was the instructions that threw me off. They want me to buy $1000 worth of gift cards. “Scammer”instantly came to mind! I used to date a bad guy who physically abused me and treated me horrible that did this and when I found out I was livid! He wasn’t the only person involved. It’s truly sad that people would rather “take” other people’s hard earned money than to go “earn” for themselves. Be careful people please!
I found this odd!! I did sign up for Whole Foods Secret shopper position…

I received the same as the others above did. USPS priority mail with a check for $1970.30 with a letter of instructions to purchase American Express gift cards. All the same instructions above. So glad I investigated this.

I received a application to be a secret shopper. I received an envelope in the mail with a Navy Federal Cashiers check of $1,950.50 telling me to purchase 3 American Express gift cards from different stores and to report the customer service of the cashier as well as to keep $450.00 for completing the survey. The persons name was Greg that has been texting me back and forth from the phone number of (707) 296-9913 and the company’s name is Bership Company. I’m furious! DO NOT PLAY WITH PEOPLES LIVELIHOOD!

Received a text indicating Whole Foods was looking for secret shoppers. Application was accepted. Then received a check via USPS Priority Mail for $1,950. Was instructed to pay myself $450 of than then spend $1500 in Nike gift cards at various stores. Then I was to rate the store and send pics of the gift cards after I scratched off the info on the back of the cards. I contacted the bank who issued the check and they indicated that this check was already cashed.

Same thing here, a check sent to us, from that company but with no instructions...lol. Must be a fake check, for scammers to get gift cards as the other statements mention.

Sent check asking me to secret shop by purchasing 3 American express gift cards. Offered bonus if done within 12 or 24 hours of the check being deposited. Asked for me to take pictures of the front and back of the cards after I scratch the silver section on back to reveal the security code. Then email or text the photos to information provided. The check will then bounce and they got 3 free gift cards and you have to pay all the money for the gift cards you bought and fees for the bounced check

Received a text about a company looking for secret shoppers for Wholefoods in my area. They said they would pay for my efforts and I would submit a report and receive payment. They then sent me a check of $2500.52. Told me to go buy 4 $500 gift cards if American Express. Scratch off the back and take picture. Send to them. Etc.

I never applied with this business. They sent a USPS priority mail with a check inside for 1450 with a letter of instructions. They want me to deposit this check in my account and go buy to Nike gift cards of $500 each. Keep $400 and will get bonus if I purchase within certain amount of time. Saying I am a secret shopper.
