When they call it shows up as NO CALLER ID or OUT OF AREA and they say that there is a civil lawsuit against you. They told me that I had a a negative balance on one of my bank accounts, which was sent to collections and since I never paid, there is now a lawsuit against me. They told me "the attorney" has offered a settlement and I can either settle through this mediation group using an FDIC insured account or if I do not settle by the end of the day, the courier is already on his way to serve me and once i have been served, the only other option is to go to trial and pay thousands of dollars. They told me I had until 3pm that day to make a decision. I went to the bank and confirmed that my accounts were properly closed and my name in good standing, i pulled a credit report to show if I had any collections and looked up and called the courts to see if I had any open cases against me....NONE! I never called them back, but then they started calling my family and former employer, stating that I had to call back to confirm my address to get served. One lady said failure to return the call would result in getting served by the end of the week, another called said they were giving me a week to respond before being served. I called back and spoke to the same rep I had originally spoken to and informed him that I was on to them and knew they were fraud and told them to stop harassing me and he tried using more scare tactics on me.
