The caller identified herself as Martha Foster, Medicare Employee number 1914M24 (after I indicated that I was uneasy about the call). She asked me to verify Medicare card information under the guise that I was supposed to be getting a new, better protected Medicare card. After she gave me information that was on the card, I reluctantly verified some additional information from the card. She said she was checking to see why my card had not yet arrived. During that time, she started asking me questions about how my day was going, etc. It began to feel like a sales call at that time, plus it was pretty obvious she was reading from a script. She then told me I had an unclaimed benefit for a back brace. I told her I did not need a back brace so why would I claim it. She continued to pitch it to me, indicating that it would cost me nothing, etc. It was at that point that I hung up and started looking into a potential scam. From your website, it appears that this is, indeed, a scam.
