I was contacted via text message by a "Angela Smith", a temporary recruiter for Scribd Publishing Company in regard to my resume posted through Google about the Proofreader position for $35 USD an hour. She said that "we believe you meet the desired criteria so reply as soon as possible to schedule an interview. I replied I was interested and wanted more information about the position. Then she texted that the interview is through Skype and asked if I had that app on my phone to proceed. I said no. She replied to "download Skype" and let her know when so after that the interviewer will tell me everything I need to know about the company. After I downloaded the free Skype add on my phone, and I let her know, she then said "Okay send your Skype username so the interviewer can write you ASAP." I didn't respond right away, and she replied with a "?". I said I didn't know how to find my user name, that was my name. She said to go to Skype Settings and and copy and paste it from there. When I wrote back saying I don't feel comfortable exchanging Skype personal information until I can have a call at least first. (For the record, I've never used Skype, so I have no concept how it works). She then ghosted me and never wrote back. I called her number and it went into a call forwarding generic message. I then deleted my Skype app and account from Microsoft.com on my phone and computer, and blocked her number. But I didn't know it was connected to Microsoft.com on my computer, so now I'm worried they can still find me and get my personal information now that they have my name and phone through my Microsoft.com account even though I've deleted all Skype accounts and apps.
