My daughter’s account was hacked and I was getting numerous charges daily. They asked me not to close my bank account so they could find the perpetrator and prosecute. This took a long time to find the IP address but finally told me it was a 17 year old teenager in North Dakota. Now I had to wait for the trail in which he was a no show. Next I was promised a check in the mail which never arrived. These people were very convincing my money would be refunded. When the check didn’t come by mail, now it was to be refunded into my checking account. I was in the process of giving my account number and COVID hit and all communication ended.
I’ve been scammed out of my entire life insurance policy on my husband. I’m beyond devastated emotionally and financially. I know I’ll never recover the money but I don’t want this to happen to anybody.
