I was given a $25 Vanilla Gift Card for Christmas. I recently tried to use it & it swiped for $0.02. I checked the card once I left the store because I had never used it. There was a $0.00 balance on the card when I checked it online. I called the company's customer service and informed them on what happened. She asked me for the last 4 digits of my gift card number. Then she started telling me the charges on the card. I told her that the only charge I made was for $0.02. She proceeded to tell me that I could file a dispute & that it would take up to 90 days and that I may not get the money back. Then she asked me for my date of birth and I asked her why did she need it. She stated that the dispute department requires it and that's the only way I could receive a new $25 gift card. I told her that I was starting to believe that the company is a scam because you shouldn't need my date of birth for a gift. I told her I would be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. She asked me for my DOB again, I told her that I wasn't giving it to her and she stated again that it would be the only way I would receive another card. I told her I was interested and hung up. I tried to check online again to get a screenshot of the purchases but I believe she blocked my card number. I have also searched on Facebook and found others have had this happen to them.
