A representative from Vista Logo called me to ask if I have ever used a logo design that they created for me nearly 5 years ago. I explained no, and that I don't own that business anymore anyway (because usually they call me to try to get me to design more logos with them). He said that he needs to close the intellectual property file with the U.S. Government, and that the fee for this is $499. If I don't not do this, and someone else were to use my logo, that they could sue me for infringement to the tune of $75,000. None of this is true, and I told him I would not be doing any sort of closing of anything with them.
