[email protected] Reports & Reviews (1)

Yesterday (3/22/23) I received two emails, supposedly from a "Paul Lavoie, Jr.", who said that he worked as a loan collection officer for "ACS [Advanced Cash Services]". He claimed that I had signed-off on [e-signed] a $1,418.16 personal loan (he claimed that they had the evidence), and that it was past time to pay-up. In the first email, he said that I had 15 days to pay in full, or I would face court action to recover the amount of the loan, plus all court costs, plus all legal fees, plus an unspecified amount for "my slanderous comments". Fraud charges would be brought. [Throughout his email, I was referred to as "The Debtor" -- my name, street address, city, state and zip code were never used anywhere in the email {he said that they had my "SSN and IP address", but didn't specify said information}]. I sent an email to him, asking for information not contained in his first email: complete contact information for the firm and for himself; the firm's license#; details of the loan; MY name and contact into (something more specific than "Dear Debtor"); my SSN and IP address (he said that he had them); what was the language of the "slanderous comments" that I had made, et cetera. In his second email, he ignored all of my questions, but provided a list of "payment schedule options", including one that was basically: "So, what can you pay us?". He also said that I now had 5 days to take care of matters (not the previously-mentioned 15 hours). I sent him another email, asking for answers to the questions that I had posed in my first email, plus a request for a "debt validation letter". As I write this communication to you (BBB), it's 5:30 PM on 3/23/23, and I have not heard anything further from him.

The only loan that I have signed-off on in the last three years is one for $500 from my primary bank; I have already made the first payment on it. He said that the "$1,418.16 loan" had been placed in my "checking account", and that they could verify this. I knew that it hadn't, but, to be thorough, I went through all of my bank records back to 9/22: five accounts -- checking (3), savings and credit card: no listing for a "$1,418.16 deposit", nor for "Paul Lavoie, Jr." or "ACS" or "Advanced Cash Services" (or any loan firm). He mentioned "slanderous communications" and "prior attempts to contact me being ignored". I searched my emails: Inbox, Trash, Spam, Archived, Starred, Promotional, Social, Documents sent to PDF files: nothing, nothing and more nothing.

I never sent anyone slanderous emails. I never signed-off on this loan. There is no fraud. I don't even know Paul Lavoie, Jr, or ACS/Advanced Cash Services.

This must be a scam, right? What do I do here? I am almost 100, and am living in a rehab center, and cannot deal with all of this!

Sincerely, ***** **** ***** (******************)

ScamPulse.com Please Note: "Paul Lavoie, Jr./ACS/Advanced Cash Service" (with one exception) did not provide ANY contact information: street address, city, state,

country of origin, phone#, age or gender of the person contacting me, et cetera. (The exception here is that Paul Lavoie, Jr. gave me a

contact email address on google...however, the address looked more like a personal email address than a business one (unless large

firms are now using gmail for official correspondence). Their was no pre-printed corparate name or logo in the header, the footer or in

the body of the email. Because of this, I had to make up contact and personal discriptive information (for Paul Lavoie, Jr./ACS) in the

fields noted above, (for use in fields in other parts of your Suspected Scam Activity submittal document), so that the document would

be processed. I am stating this forthrightly here, so that it can be verified that I have employed no form of deception.
