I reached out to this person via Craigslist find. He had a name and identity theft of a real realtor from Seattle. All the conversation happened via email where he sent the lease and also gave me a discount. The apartment was legit with all the street view and everything else. I checked the name of the person and because the name was a legit property dealer, all other details seemed legit too. This person asked me for the full amount of lease on a 10% discount, but I insisted that I only pay the deposit, look at the place in person and then make the payment. The lease he sent has all the information and details about how if I don't like the place, the deposit will be refunded. He asked me to pay via PayPal because it could be instantly deposited which I naively did and should not have. However, I tried to contact this person over call and after the one time call, this person stopped responding and blocked me. I have lost $1800 now. I am an international student who was going to go to Seattle for a summer internship. I have all the email threads, signed lease, PayPal receipt of payment. I am very very upset and would like to file a fraud case and seek for any help in getting my refund.

I would appreciate any and every help. This is not fair to me or anyone else. Awaiting response. Thank you.
