Received a fax from Industrial Roofing just as we were looking for someone to clean the gutters and make a repair to our church roof. I made a call to them and spoke with Michael. He asked for the address of the church and it seemed to me looked at a photo of the church online to give me a quote of $399 to clean the gutters plus anything additional to repair the leak. I thought the price was quite low and asked them to come on Monday morning so I could give a more detailed explanation of what needed to happen. I got into work on Monday morning around 9:15 am and received a call from Michael around 10:30 am telling me that they had been at the church to clean the gutters early that morning and found a large leak that would cost around $4,000 to repair. I told him I would need to discuss the matters with the church trustees before contracting them to complete the job. I went outside and noticed that the outside of the church looked quite undisturbed and was wondering how they could've completed the job so quickly before I arrived at 9:15 am. Michael came back on a Thursday and said that the job had been completed and wanted to be paid. Another employee of our church was asking him for photos, more information about the problem and how he solved it and some other general inquiries that he could not answer. Michael became agitated about being questioned and said he didn't need our money and drove off. We believe he was trying to scam us.
