He call me threatened that I would be garnished if I didn't pay the loan I made one payment then when I didn't receive an receipt I knew then it was a scam I pay out 200.00 I'm glad I found out it was an scam they would not get another penny and I'm calling my bank in the morning

An individual called my nephew for an alleged debt from 2011 (payday loan). He identified himself as Agent Benson and told my nephew an amount of money he allegedly owed. My nephew asked him to email any documents relative to the loan. He threatened my nephew stating he only had five minutes to sign the document which he would be sending to him via email or he would immediately dispatch police to pick him up for willfully defrauding a financial institution (he quoted at code from the Statute which I happened to know was inaccurate) My nephew was suspicious after the individual changed to amount of money and brought me his phone. I told the individual that he was communicating misinformation to my nephew and he was not paying. The fool became belligerent insisting he had some authority to dispatch police and I told him to do whatever he was going to do and made nephew hang up. I am reporting this because like my nephew, some people are not knowledgeable about debt collection procedures and will succumb to the threats of these lying bullies. Moreover, the document he emailed was clearly not official (something my six year old niece could have typed) and the name for the company was different in the letterhead, the contact email, and on the website (which had very limited information) and the phone number did not work.. I wanted to upload the document but is was sent similar to docu-sign and couldn't be printed until is was signed.
