They asked my family member for $1700 to "fix" their computer remotely. They specifically asked him for a check by phone and when he couldn't give that, they asked for a debit card. The managed to charge $1000 on the debit card and tried to charge the other $700, but the bank shut off the card for suspicious activity. The company name they work under appears to be a name they copied from a potentially legitimate company, and they provide you with paperwork to docusign to appear official.
