Clearance Jobs connection Nancy Jeter, contacted me at my personal email via third party site BambooHR for an interview - claiming to be the Inflow FSO. Inflow advertises to be a female owned business that’s secured several government contracts. I had a phone interview (with Joe Haydu), was hired, sent an offer letter via BambooHR email chain (no formal letter on letterhead). I was contacted by Regina Minton for onboarding, was given access to Inflow BambooHR portal, and was instructed to complete all HR documents (banking info, W4, healthcare, life insurance, police background check, etc.). I was told the company employees do not have email addresses but use the app Slack to talk to each other. I was then sent my Slack account information by Tiffany Perkins. I had arranged to start employment today (Aug. 14th) but Regina told me on Friday my police background check was still pending so I had to wait. This morning I reached out to Regina via Slack to inquire about the status of my background check. After logging on to BambooHR this afternoon I saw that I was sent the bank routing form to complete and return. I then tried logging onto Slack on my computer and saw that my account had been deactivated. I tried reaching out to Tiffany (via phone) about my account and also to Nancy and Regina for follow-up on my background check. Around 2:30p.m. I received an email from Nancy on Regina’s email account stating my offer was rescinded with no explanation as to why. My BambooHR account was also deleted. I sent an email in response to inquire as to the reason and called Nancy as well but didn’t hear anything back. My wife called the main number posted on the website, as well as Tiffany and Nancy, and asked for an explanation for rescindment since there was nothing in my background that would inhibit me moving forward and no explanation given. My wife told them she was worried this was a scam and would report to the FTC because they took our information - my personal SSN, spouse SSN, and 3 minor children SSN as well as our address, phone numbers, legal names, etc. My wife and I are federal employees so this appears to be a targeted attack. After my wife called and left messages asking for the legal right for rescindment, the CEO Angel Crockett then called me and told me to cease and desist contacting her employees. She also defensively asked "do you think we are a fake company?” multiple times throughout the call and asked if I was going to report them to the SEC in retaliation. I explained I was not sure of the legitimacy since I was cut off from all contact and not given legal explanation why my offer was rescinded so it felt like a scam. (All of the communication platforms were red flags. I was never given a site location to work at in AL nor a contact to assist me onsite when I was to start today. They sought my banking information before rescinding the offer. They never gave me a new start date or update on the background check. I also looked up the physical address of the business and it is a small warehouse, not a corporate HQ as advertised.) Angel then told me the offer was rescinded because I did not pass the police background check but she was not aware as to why (which check was to take 1-2 days but paperwork for the check was a DOJ-ATF form- not the traditional police check). She would not give me a copy of the background report or lead me to where I could obtain my legal right to it/have assistance, just told me to contact my FSO at my old job for help. She was incredibly combative and defensive, denying the possibilities of using my information illegally, and insisted that because I talked to people this verified the legitimacy of the company. She ended the call asking me if she was going to hear anything else from me or if she should expect me to take legal action. I told her I did not know. As I have researched the people, methods used, series of events, this appears to be a scam.
