Type of a scam Employment
I hadn't heard back from the company until this yesterday morning when I received a congratulatory email from [email protected]. I was supposedly through to the next round. A pasword-protected link was attached, which would include more information about the job, the benefits and five questions to be answered before going through to the round of interviews. The link prompted an automatic download of a zip-file. When unzipping, the file contained some marketing-related images and a .pdf.lnk file. I did click on that file, but it wouldn't work. Because I thought the images were slightly out of the ordinary, I ended up googling the email address. That's when I found a post by the actual company warning people about this scam (https://www.lovechock.com/about/jobs) and that they are in no way affiliated. I think I dodged a bullet myself as .lnk files are aimed at Windows systems and I use a MacBook. Though not everyone might be that lucky. I am a bit worried about the information I had sent through the first application though, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they can't do anything without me opening that .lnk file.
