At first, I received a job offer for a backend developer position at PACSUN (Pacific Sunwear) from a person named Hope ********. She conducted an interview via Skype and asked me eight questions, which sounded legitimate. After making me wait until the next day for a final decision, she informed me that I was accepted and sent me a job offer letter to accept, a W4 to fill out, and requested my driver's license for identification verification, which I sent along with my SSN. However, I became suspicious when she sent me a check for $3,900.50 and asked me to print it out and deposit it. After depositing it, I received a notification from my bank at night about a low cash mode balance of -$3,303.58, indicating that they tried to steal that money. I've talked with my bank, and they put that check on hold.
