I have received several pieces of correspondence allegedly relating to the probate of a James Gregory Bean of St. Mary's, Maryland. The first came in piece of mail looking like an official piece of mail from the federal or state government and included a faux $20,000 check signed by George Murphy to me. This was apparently a presorted mailing paid at San Dimas, CA (permit #69). The contact number was listed as 866-981-6506.

I have also received other mail listed with a title of ProbateAdvance and George Murphy listed as probate consultant with contact number of 866-540-7949.

I am totally unfamiliar with the deceased and did not contact anyone related to the estate. The probate advance scheme sounds very suspicious and is trying to land folks who are looking to get rich quick.
