On 8/22/22, someone from the "Instagram Team" from the Instagram Headquarters reached out to me. Stating my instagram verified badge (blue check) and that I was eligible for one. I know that I have submitted a request to be verified before. I engaged with them and they sent me a screenshot of my profile as verified and now we just need the payment. That's when my red flags came up and I asked a lot of questions on why there was payment. Even Instagram's site said there was no payment required for verification. They responded that they are a verification team and instagram only automatically verifies celebrities and that's why others paid to get verified. On 8/24/22, They said we are all humans so it is unwise to cheat or scam each other. I inquired about the cost and they said it's $100 to get it done, 30 mins to be fully completed and approval is assured. I responded at the time and said that I was not interested. I had some time to think about it and have made some more content since. I know that for some of my other sites such as *******, I had to pay my distribution center in order to be verified, therefore it still required a payment in my mind. On 11/21/22, I reached out to them and asked if the offer was still available for the verification badge. On 11/22/22, they responded and said it was still available and asked me what payment method was and I said Venmo or CashApp. I was nervous but felt like this may not be a scam after all, that I was going to pay for a service that I would get. They responded with name and username for CashApp, Alan Rodriguez and payment to $mixzeralan. They said to send the screenshot of the payment and they will get it done. I made the payment and sent the screenshot, then nothing. Then I received a response that they just got a call from Instagram and they're gonna release my badge. Now we had some clearance fees and to buy followers, otherwise the checkmark can't reflect immediately. With those added things, I would only $200 for both and then it will be reflected immediately. I said as I understood, it was only a $100 for the whole process to be complete, otherwise I would like a refund. Then I got a response of, "how much can you afford to add to it and let me help you out will get the badge once the payment is sent." I once again asked for a refund and they said to send another $50. As soon as I've realized that I've been scammed, I requested a refund from that CashApp account. I asked another 6 times for the refund of my money and between all that, they just said you can't get any refund because my badge was done completely, showing me a badge with 99% complete next to it and I just had to send another $50. I said thanks for the assistance but I am going to submit a complaint with the better business bureau. I have not heard back since. Thank you.
