I was trying to call State Farm to ensure my son's renters insurance hand been canceled 800 526 8210. I apparently called 800 526 5210. They asked my name... I gave them my son's, they indicated the had a special deal for people over 50 (press 1) If not press#. I pressed # still thinking it was State Farm, but trying to bypass "deal" The voice said it was a recorded line, Can you hear me? I said "Yes I can" (sigh) then it launched into a "deal." I tried to interrupt, thinking it was a live person, and realized it wasn't and hung up.

I think it was set up to get people dialing State Farm but dialing the wrong number - pressing 5 instead of 8, of thinking they were dialing State Farm.

No fraud yet, but fear it is coming.
