She was contacted by a person from a legitimate company, asked a bunch of questions, and a couple of days later offered a job. All via email. Then told a check would be sent to her to purchase a laptop, and office supplies. She was to send them a copy of the deposit slip after deposited. This brought up a red flag. She declined the offer and they said not to shred the check, but to deposit and transfer it back to their account. they gave her the name and account number.
The person was not from the company, and looking at the emails and interview questions there was no way anyone would think that this was a fraud. The person was VERY VERY professional and could fool almost anyone, especially young students looking for a job. The website was Eco.com, and the "recruiter" was supposedly from Intas Pharmaceuticals. I have a copy of the fed ex that the check came in, copies of the emails, and my daughter has sent me the check. The account she is to transfer money to is under KOTRYNA VALATKEVICIUTE and the account number is 291021208975, Bank of America.
