We wanted to purchase a new mini–Australian Shepherd and found Integrity Aussie on line. They had quite a few puppies for sale. Each puppy was $500 US with $150 for shipping. We selected a puppy and contacted them. The puppy was available and they sent more pictures and a contract. They said they were from Montana so we requested the shipping option. We sent the $650 via Zelle and were told the shipping company would contact us. Starwood Pet Transport contacted us shortly afterward sending us a copy of the contract with them. It was the first time we had the name and address of the so-called breeder. Shortly after receiving the email info from the shipper, they called us saying they needed another $1,500 for a special crate to ship the puppy. The breeder also email us saying the same thing. Red flags started waving. We decided to contact the Columbia Falls, Montana police department to see if the breeder's address really existed. While we waited for the response from the police, we googled the phone numbers of the breeder and shipper. The breeder evidently used a burner phone and the shipper's number popped up on this Scam Plus website. The Police officer then contacted us and said he went to the house in Montana, but there were no puppies. The family that lived there also had ordered a beagle puppy and never received the puppy. They had paid the additional $1,500 for shipping and they were later asked for $2,000 more for insurance. This scam seems to cover many dog breeds.
