Warm regards,
Maggie Sulivan Senior Recruiter at Intellectual Ventures.
I researched the company "Intellectual Ventures" on Glassdoor which has great ratings. So, I decided to accept the role.
They sent a cashier's check for $3950.89 Priority Mail.. Check was to purchase $3400 of remote office equipment & $500 for first week of work. I deposited check July 20th and waited to clear. The bank put a hold on the check .I called the bank on the morning of the 23rd to check on status and spoke with Kelly from CACU. An hour later she called said funds available. "Maggie" instructed me to wire the money to third party vendor that would then send me the equipment for working from home. "Maggie" gave me the contact info to send the money for the equipment to Martin Tokmo Stockton, CA 95207 with Money Gram. Walmart only allows $2400 at a time for wire transfer. So, I sent two different amounts $2465.00 & $938.00. Bank reversed the cashier’s check as bad. CACU did a conference call with Intellectual Ventures and spoke with Karen who said that the real Maggie Sullivan (Recruiter) had her accounts hacked and someone was using her identity to cause this commotion. I put in reports with IC3, FTC, and the CFPB. Debbie with CACU referred the fraudulent information over to the bank's Loss Prevention Department. I am awaiting to hear back from them.
