Type of a scam Online Purchase
They also add little details to further enhance the appearance of authenticity. They have a “Featured on” section, in which they claim ABC, NBC, and Touch of Modern. They list reviews from customers with pictures included. They have sections for FAQ’s regarding shipping time, shipping costs, and even locations. And then at the bottom they show supported payment methods from legitimate trusted companies such as Visa, Mastercard, PayPal, Shop, etc.
They have gone through great lengths to make their site seem legit as possible. They even go as far as sending emails with confirmation of account creation as well as order confirmation, with a statement to notify me when the order has been shipped. Their site says that even with high demands, the order should be fulfilled within 3 business days. I have an order number and everything. And as with purchasing from any online site I’m not familiar with, I did searches on the company to see if they’re legit. I came back with no sites stating that they were. So I gave them a chance.
I place the order on 4/7/22 @ 10:22 PM, though my receipt says 4/82/22 @ 1:22 AM. I figure that to just be a matter of time zone difference. It’s been 8 business days or 12 actual days since I placed my order, yet it still says my order is unfulfilled. I have tried contacting the company directly through their “contact us” section, which is a form you fill out with your info and a message to them and then hit send. After a few days of no response, I return to contact them again and realize they have an advisement that their online contact form hadn’t been working and to send them an email directly to [email protected]. That was a red flag for me, and I started to do some deeper research.
Upon further investigation, including finding a site that does intensive analysis on websites, I found quite a few things that renders the site illegitimate. For starters, they say they have warehouses in America, Europe, and China, yet their business is less than four months old. They don’t have an actual “about us” section. They vaguely state the above mentioned statement, and have no actual contact info other than an awfully generic email address - no physical address, phone number, etc. after purchase, they offer no follow up or cancel order option. There is no matching search results of their product, brand, or business name on any of the sites that they’re supposedly featured on. They never respond to any communication. After deep searching, I can only find one site that offers any information about their site, and they give the site a low authenticity rating based on their analysis. I can only find one review of the company outside of their own site, and that customer, as myself, never received any product, nor any response from the merchant.
All in all, this scammer goes way out of their way to fool people into believing they are an honest legitimate business selling a high quality product. It is easy to get tricked because they have covered the main things a consumer will look for when trying to determine if a site, seller, or merchant is legit. There are red flags that can be easily spotted upon research or the company, but unfortunately the site seems legit enough so that you won’t spot the red flags until after the purchase is made. Even as I type this report and go back and forth from the site to the emails they sent me, its still easy to question if maybe they’re just running behind on order fulfillment, because they have so many things that you would see on a legitimate merchant’s website. Even he email links take you directly to your account on their site. The programmer has put a lot of effort into this scam.
I think that about covers everything, or at least the most pertinent info. All I can say is that if this site/“merchant” does turn out to be legit, then they have HORRIBLE business practices and really need to revamp their entire system.
