Matthew May contacted me in regards to an employment opportunity I had applied to on LinkedIn. I had two virtual interviews with Mr. May and subsequently received an offer. Shortly after the offer was accepted I received a link to complete onboarding tasks via ApplicantStack and submitted the usual documents; W-4, I9, DE 4, along with an NDA and Code of Conduct agreement. This was all completed approximately 2 weeks prior to my start date and everything seemed normal up to that point. I was in contact with Mr. May via email, phone and LinkedIn, we agreed my start date would be July 5th, 2022. On the morning of my first day I sent an email 10 minutes prior to my start time for clarification on how we would be connecting and which items were still pending from onboarding. I received no response and followed up with a phone call approximately one hour after the email was sent. The phone rang and went to voicemail, where I left a message for Mr. May indicating that I was ready to work and pending further direction. I sent a total of 5 emails and called numerous times but received no responses. The number that I had left a message to earlier was no longer working it was either disconnected or my number was blocked. I tried all of the numbers listed for the business and none of them were in service. I tried to search for Mr. May's LinkedIn and it appeared to have been deleted. I reached out to the [email protected] email and received no response. Matthew May has a history of scamming employees by hiring them as contractors and never paying them for their work so I am thankful that only one day was wasted and no actual work was done. Although I did not complete any work for Mr. May he did obtain my personal information and it appears this may be a ploy to collect data. This man has a history of fraudulent behavior and his entire business should be shut down.
