Dear Taxpayer,

After the last annual calculations of your fiscal activity, we have determined that you are eligible to receive a tax return of $976.00. In order for us to process the excess payment, please complete the Tax Return Form before December 7, 2023. After completing the form, please allow 5-9 business days for processing. For your convenience, we recommend not using a prepaid card, because sending funds does not support this card. Sincerely, Internal Revenue Service

A recorded call was received that claimed to be from the IRS saying I owe money, that this my final notice; that I needed to call 866-315-0521.

The scammers left voicemail on my cellphone. Now this is the 2nd scam in 1 weeks time. Only this was an automated male voice stating they tried to reach me by mail in past 6 months. I never responded, so I m guilty if fraud and they have issued arrest warrants for myself and my family will also be charged . Message stated I needed to return call the second I received message. I had thankfully been warned to watch out for this type of scammers

The scammers left voicemail on my cell phone. They stated they had attempted to contact me by mail, 3 times in the last 6 months. Since I had no response they were taking that as I intentionally frauded the I. R. S. That the U. S. Government was filing warrants for my arrest and a lawsuit being filed against me and my family. I was to return the imediately at 970-316-0853. It was an automated female voice. Thankfully I had previously been informed that the I.R.S only contacts by U. S. Mail. Never phone calls or email

Received a call and voice mail this morning from the above number. There was a message left that seemed to start with "if you don't call us back a lawsuit will be filed against you". I have not called the number back.

Caller left recorded call indicating I should return their call or legal action would be taken. Phone message did not indicate who the caller was. When I returned the call the person answering the phone indicated they were the Internal Revenue Service. Based on their answer to questions I determined they were not the IRS and I hung up.

I received a phone call. I let it go to voice mail. The message said this is the Internal Revenue Service. Call back before we pursue a law suit. Call as soon as possible. I received the call Friday and called the number (347) 386-6985 Monday 23 April 2018. It was a call center. Voice sounded foreign. My phone showed it was a New York phone number. I hung up right away. I did not speak to the person who answered the phone. Then I called the ScamPulse.com in Washington. I was advised it was a scam I was advised to report it. So I just did.

Left the following voicemail on my cellphone: You are under federal investigation because of the fraud and unethical activities found in the audit report of your taxes. You can reach me on 646-558-6671. Do not disregard this message or else it will be taken as an offense from your side. Again, this is Officer Ryan Smith from the Internal Revenue Service....

Received a call claiming to be from the U.S. Treasury Dept. claiming that there was tax fraud case under my name. Claiming to ignore the message would result in fines and arrest and to call back the number to resolve it. Caller was a prerecorded computer voice.

I have been called twice today by someone claiming to be the Internal Revenue Service.
