I have been contacted by a text message , this person said her name is Jessica and she is reaching out to me regarding one of my job applications (I had some application made at the moment) she said she is the HR manager of Interpreta company owned by Centene. After the text messages she reached out to me with an official domain email adress ([email protected]) she provided a legit website, linkedin account which has employee reviews etc. so everything seemed legit. After an assestment test she reached out again and said I have been hired for the position which is remote data entry position. Following day I have received an offer letter with a signature and company logo , I signed it and sent it back. After signing it Jessica reached out again and said we should have further conversation via Telegram app due to company rules. I downloaded telegram and we started to have conversation from there , she sent me a video of herself welcoming me to the position which I downloaded this video. She told me that I need to obtain a software license for the position and they will compensate it for me, I accepted it. She said the accounting department will reach out about how to complete that process. I have received another email from a name 'Brian Gay' and email adress is [email protected] , this email was included 2 attachments of a bank check for $940,00 and name on the check is also Brian Gay too. Instructions on the email was saying that I have to submit this check via mobile channels to my bank and use it for my license. Jessica messaged me after and was checking if I received it or not. It sounded suspicious cause I never experienced something like this before. I contacted my bank and asked them to check this bank check for me and they said it looks legit. After that I have submitted this check to my account and it got approval. However I found some scam reports about this company and called my bank after that. I have explained the situation and told them to be sure if the check is legit or not, even if it's approved. They said check was fake and it was going to be reversed from my bank account. That's how I figured that I was scammed. I also contacted the bank on the check and it turned out they stole people's indentity's and they issuing fake checks on their name. These people have my personal information and I do not know what legal actions I should take.

I received a text and email form a Jessica telling me to do an assessment and send my personal information such as: First name, Last name, address, phone number and my recent resume. When I sent her the information she then sent me an email saying she liked my resume and gives me the run down on duties and pay. I failed to respond to her after she received it and the messaged read;

A decision about your employment was made sooner than expected as we need to fill this position as soon as possible.

Please find attached the terms and conditions of your employment.

Once I signed and sent the form back that is when I got even more suspicious of this job and never went any further.

I couldn't find where I even applied for the job even though I was actively looking for a job. Then on top of that the company website did not work well. Lastly my emails had a lot of misspelled words.

Finally emailed them back telling them to never contact me again.

1. You will be required to complete an identity verification process. Ms Dillon will walk you through this process

2. Before you can commence your training, you will need to obtain a personal license for the software used in transmitting data, specifically for remote work purposes. The software requires every user to upgrade their account using their personal wallet, which must match the name on their account. This is in compliance with the Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws. Therefore, the company will issue an expense check to you specifically for the purpose of getting started. You are expected to use the funds from the check only for the purpose of acquiring the license. Job Title: Data Entry Clerk

Benefits & Bonuses: Medical Insurance, Life insurance, Retirement Plans and 401k Plans, Disability Insurance. After your training period, You will be required to choose your working hours (Full-Time or Part-Time)

Working hours are absolutely flexible. During your training period, you will receive detailed guidelines on how to schedule your working hours. You have the flexibility to add an extra 5 hours to your regular schedule, allowing you to reach a total of 40 hours per week or 25 hours per week with the option to work overtime.

NOTE: A progression and performance review will be conducted on a quarterly basis to assess performance to-date, and to clarify or modify this arrangement, as the need may arise. This arrangement may be terminated by either party upon notice in writing to either party with notice that complies with Employment Standards (or Labor Standards) for California.

This Agreement made as of this day, between Interpreta [Employer], an institution incorporated under the laws of the State of California and Shyan Hardnett [Employee], hereby put both parties in mutual relationship, where the employer desires to obtain the benefit of the services of the Employee, and the Employee desires to render services on the terms and conditions set forth. • Employment
