I am putting a raffle together and happened across Intex-Products.com selling water recreation devices at a temporary discount. To make the purchase I had to create an account which included identifiable information. I purchased one item using my Paypal account. An hour later decided to purchase another item from the same website. Oddly, I wasn't able to find the website again. I did however happen to find a webpage from Intexcorp.com suggesting there are fraudulent websites out there making false offers and they are not affiliated with the official Intex brand. Intexcorp recommended contacting my bank to stop the charge and notifying the Better Business Bureau. Since the, I received an email from Paypal saying that I had sent payment to willie johnson / [email protected]. My banking app on the other hand does not show that payment has been sent just yet.

I am catching all of this within an hour of making the purchase so it doesn't appear that I haven't lost any money yet but the rush to freeze my account, change passwords, and make the proper connections continues.
