someone message me thru Instagram and said that if he can use my profile picture for painting for an exhibition on July 14, 2022, in Toronto, and at first I said it was okay. then he said that I will get paid for that but since he is a newcomer from Ukraine and he has no bank account yet here the cheque will be under my name. so I did say yes at first I didn't take it seriously. and he said that his client will the one who will send the cheque thru my email. and so I believe that when I received the cheque I did try to deposit it on my bank thru mobile banking and it went through. so now the money is shown in my bank account and that is what made me believe that it was legit. then he asks me to send the rest amount minus my share. so I did then after a day it shows that the cheque was counterfeit and now I owe to the bank. but then the bank didn't help me at all. even offer protection with my account but yet instead blame me. because they said that I was liable for it.
