Received a text message with a clickable link to enter my social security number and phone number. The link takes you to a fake sunpass website where they make you search for your invoice using your social security number.

They were impersonating sunpass tolls and trying to get me to pay an unpaid fine and to avoid excessive late fees. I double checked with the real sunpass website and I had no unpaid tolls. I also didn’t have to enter any personal information like my social on the real sunpass website. I did not enter my social or any identifying information on the fake website. I did type the link into my browser.

I entered my phone number and social security number, along with my wife’s credit card information to pay the toll, or so we thought.

Received a text that I had an unpaid toll, I did not click on the link provided just googled the phone number and found out it was a scam.

Received a text stating that I had unpaid tolls, which I knew was untrue because I rarely cross toll bridges, and I always pay! I did not open the link to pay the toll, so I have no idea how much they were phishing to get out of me.
