Have also received the above mentioned research opportunity with the instructions from Katy Leach at IPSOS advising me to buy 2 apple gift cards for $1300.00 with the 2 checks provided of $1490.00 each keeping $330.00 for myself. The checks are titled Bank of Newport but they don't check out. It says to send text to 305-768-1174 after making purchases. Knew it was too good to be true.

we waited for those checks to clear prior to performing the instructed task. Those money orders were also returned non-payable on 01/03/2020. We asked our bank to place the funds on hold so no harm no foul. We are only out our time. I played along and text the number provided informing that we have completed the task. Their reply was to "Leave the store before we fill out the assessment form, Text a picture of the filled out form and the purchase receipt. Also text the picture of the purchased gift cards for our records, peel off the silver strip at the back of the card neatly before taking the pictures".

The pic I send wont be pleasant. Will give this info to the proper authorities. We dont want anyone getting ripped off.

I had received an email from Katy Leach and I also received several emails on how to go about being a mystery shopper. How to act when going to the place of business when conducting being a mystery shopper. I had also received several text on what to do. I also received a letter in the mail telling which store to go to in order to conduct the mystery shopper task. The person that sent me the letter was Rene Brandon that was on the label of the envelope that sent me the survey. I also received three checks that were in the amount of $985.00. I was told to deposit those checks into my bank account. The total amount was $2,985.00. Once the checks cleared I went on ahead and did the mystery shopper job.

The intial job was to get 2 apple gift cards in the amount of $1,300. Then the task changed to go to local Best Buy and purchase 4 Best Buy gift cards in the amount of $500 each. Once I made the purchase I was to leave the store and then fill out the mystery shopper evaluation. Then with the remaining balance I was to go to local CVS/Walgreens and purchase two EBAY gift cards in the amount of $200. My bank had contacted me to let me know that those checks that I had deposited were not good checks and that my account was -2,251.00 because those checks were a scam.
