I received a check for over 2300 (Citibank was creator of ‘official check’) as a mystery shopper. Cecil said Amex was losing market share of gift cards and needed to know details if associates were asking consumer to buy other products. Was also asked to purchase groceries to make it look like a normal. My payment was 295. I did purchase 2000 in gift cards, groceries and emailed Cecil the details (front back of cards), shopping experience, etc. I had a bad feeling about this and called Amex and canceled the gift cards. It will take about 30 days to get new cards issued to me
