got a call fro a scammer saying i had fraud with the Irs and was going to be arrested..they left a voice mail

A call from 202-206-0618 called me today claiming to be the IRS. The voicemail left was, "This is a notification call from Internal Revenue Service. The reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing a lawsuit against you for tax fraud, to get more information about this case, file before your arrest warrant is issued and your Social Security number is blacklisted. Call us on 202-206-0618. I repeat, 202-206-0618. Thanks." I of course freaked out and called back. The first call was a woman that mumbled, and hung up on me. The second call was a man that sounded like James or Jay. He started giving the debt collector at the IRS speech, and I mentioned my first name only. After that he said, "Yes, I see you on our list." That is when he claimed I owe $800 dollars, and that I must pay or be arrested at the end of the week. This felt off, and I quickly asked him for my full name and date of birth. He did have my first and last name, but not my middle name. The rep quickly avoided my birthday and started berating me to pay the $800 or go to jail for tax fraud. I again demanded my birthday, and he again avoided that. I yelled ,"H**l no I am not giving you my info until you can prove you are the IRS!" He would not, and I hung up. I quickly looked up the 800 number for the IRS in MO, and called. The real IRS confirmed that this was a fraudulent caller, and asked if I paid. I said no. They told me to start reporting it as they are looking into the many calls they are getting from residents. I hope my experience can help someone else avoid this nightmare.

That they are gonna file to the irs for fraud unless they call the phone #.

You receive this call, the issue at hand is time sensitive . Don’t disregard this call. 719-245-8135. If you don’t return this call by you or your attorney, only thing I can do is wish you good luck as this situation unfolds on you. Good bye

(IRS does not call about problem, a letter will be mailed ). I did not return his call because I know it is a scam. Please beware
