The phone number called was a number from the Apple website for technical support. They agreed they could help with an iphone that had been disabled. After a lengthy conversation with a haughty female with a heavy accent, we were offered the tech support to enable the phone plus one month of tech support for any other issues for $80. We were going to pay for the services until the lady said our credit card was declined, and asked if we had received a notice from our bank. Then the lady asked for checking account information. At this time we knew it was a scam and when we refused to pay for the services the lady became very hostile and said we were stupid and fickle and people like us would not survive in this world. The bank alerted us about the fraudulent activity as the company tried to run the charge through again, but since it was coming from India, the bank blocked the payment. Also, she kept advising us the company was registered with the ScamPulse.com and had an A+ rating. ScamPulse.com shows a B- rating and one other complaint.
