I turned on my computer one day to find a very prominent message to the effect my computer had been closed down by Microsoft apparently due to a virus I had let into it. The message from "Microsoft" included a toll-free number which I needed to dial to restore my Microsoft functionality. Upon dialing this number I spoke with an individual whose dialect I had a great deal of difficult understanding but I foolishly let him him into my computer. The individual represented himself as an employee of Microsoft. After that, he contacted me again and again informing me I had additional threats within my computer for which he charged me to allegedly resolve and as a result I let him into my computer several more times. I paid this organization a total of $3500.00 before learning I was subject to a scam. Regardless, I continue to hear from these people roughly once per month although I have made it as clear as I can I do not want further contacts from them.
