I was on my desktop and a loud alarm went off and the screen went an alert saying I had a virus and needed to call immediately the number on the screen. The woman on the line had heavy accent but tried to explain that I had no firewall protection and that my information was able to be seen. She had me type some www. address and then she was able to remotely navigate on my computer; she showed me 1,300 plus list of errors and times my computer was being accessed? I'm not computer savvy at all; I'm 63 year old woman who was gripped with fear of identity theft and she played me well; bottom line, I was connected with supervisor "Steve Austin" (from India) who told me of two different options to give me the security we needed. Showed me he was in New York, New York, a screen that showed different plans and how they were the only ones that could give me the firewall for microsoft??? I foolishly gave him my credit card info for a $1,900 lifetime coverage for any device we had or would change to. The other option was a $499 for one year....there was a lot of talk and hassle with my card that I hadn't activated...he could use his mouse and auto fill in and navigate on my desktop. I felt so ignorant and sick at my stomach the whole time. When I told my husband when he got home, he said we should've called my son in law first, but he wasn't available at the time. When I heard a similar thing had happened to his mom, (he is in IT), he said this is what they hope for...an older, fearful person who doesn't get it! I looked up on the ScamPulse.com to see if there was anything about this particular scam...I read about the Tech Support scam and realized it was almost exactly what happened to me. I immediately called my cardholder and they flagged it and will research on their end as well to warn others about this company. The cardholder looked up the name of what the charge showed up as...MAS*SUNRINBJY TRADE and it is in Bejing, China.

So, please don't call any number when an alarm goes off on your desktop!
