Responded via text to my boat listing. Acted interested then wanted to set a meeting time all through text. I offered to chat, and he did not respond. When meeting time was setup through text, he then told me to get a vehicle pro report to him as he always uses it. When I refused, he started to nag and acted like that was the only thing in the way of the deal. He would just ghost any questions about chat or his location.
Scam on for sale items 719-867-5914

• Aug 02, 2024

This guy texted me from (719) 867-5914 and acted like he was interested in a boat I had listed for sale. He asked a few questions: Did I still have it? Can he see it?Is my price negitiable? We set an appointment to meet in a few days for him to look at it; he told me he was coming from Castlerock, WA (about an hour away from me). The next day, he texted me and asked if I would have a vehicle inspection report ready for him from either trustywheel .com, autizilla .com, or
thevehiclepro .com. Never heard of these so I researched and it seems they're often associated with scams (even if the sites themselves are legitimate). But more importantly, based on the info the sites claim to provide, it certainly doesn't seem that there's much value in their services (for smaller pleasure boats, anyway) even if the coat is only $55. In fact, much of what they "offer" is info you can research yourself. When I pointed this out to him, he went silent and ghosted me. If only these scammers would apply their cleverness to legitimate effortsall, huh?!

The scammer is interested in the RV I'm selling. The area code is Colorado but he wanted to look at the RV tomorrow in Florida. When I moved the showing to the following day, he said okay. He asked for the payment option and I advised cashier's check only. He said ok. He then asked for a CI report. I wasn't sure what it was so I inquired. He gave me Carsintel.com. I said I would look into it but was busy so it would be much later. When I looked into it online, I found the scam information from Malwaretips (Uncovering the CarsIntel.com Fake Car History Report Scam, Written by: ****** *******, Published on: September 23, 2023). I responded back to Jordan that I had other showings and no report was needed. He then said I could pull the report from ***************. I found the ScamPulse.com report and another scam alert online for Trustywheel.com. I advised Jordan that I didn't need a report and sent him on his way.
