Type of a scam Employment
I’ve already sent all my information because I have believed that this RAA position was legit. The email I sent that info to was [email protected] - I should have compared email addresses sooner than now considering “Jack” had me write a 2 page article on Tips on becoming a Remote Administrative Assistant. They had me download the Homebase app to clock in and out. This Monday, Homebase (which is a reputable company time clock website) started undergoing maintenance and when I tried to log in, I could but it showed that I didn’t belong to a team anymore, but I was still a RAA from the firm. So today “Jack” sent me an app to download called “Connecteam” for my logging in and requests off, availability, etc. Jack” also told me that funds for my office equipment and sign on bonus were on their way to me. I have read many scams about this, which in turn they will have someone deposit a part then deposit money into another account or whatever. Luckily, even though I sent my information for the i9, I used a bank account that I only have my coffee fund for every pay day, which only keeps about a $1 balance. My credit was ruined by a bankruptcy a few years ago and some credit cards so they won’t be able to get anything with my information. There were other members of the team on the Homebase app that I can no longer see but I did make friends with one guy who wasnt sure this was a legit job or not. Once the chats happened the app went through a “maintenance.” Then “Jack” sent me an email today that said I had nothing to worry about that this job was legit and that he hasn’t responded much as he should because of some urgent family matters.
