Caller claimed a bounced check from Nations Bank from the 1990s for $51 at Winn Dixie. Said the interest and fees have accrued to more than $700. Caller had information about my vehicle and threatened lien against my car and “other assets” and tried to get me to settle for roughly $300 but wanted me to provide CC and other PII over a web form and not even secure payment. I refused and was told they would be filing in court for nonpayment and would pursue my assets. Caller refused to provide a copy of the check and stated statute of limitations don't apply because of a “tolling clause.”
