I found this ad on Facebook market place for miniature donkeys.
Of course I fell in love with these two little cuties seen below.
I paid a deposit on each of them. Our agreed price was $850.00 each.
After back and forth text messages about delivery I realized that there was never going to be a delivery. I could go on and on my story is just like the others almost exactly. In fact< the two donkeys I was going to purchase were the same two donkeys that are seen in another post. They were promised to other unsuspecting people as well. Very sad what things have come to in this country and around the world.

I was looking for a miniature donkey and found the "James Farm Miniature Donkeys" page on Facebook and on google as a legit breeder. They had been posting for awhile and showed donkeys that had supposedly gone to their new homes and said they were delivering some to my area and had 3 available for purchase still. We messaged in length about my home, food, worming, all necessary questions. He told me they were $800 each and that I could come see them on Monday as the next day was Easter Sunday. They were fairly local to me, so I asked if we could come see the donkey in person. He only had the 3 and sent me a screen shot on Sunday saying that he had several people interested in them and if I didn't put a deposit down I would basically lose my spot. So we made the decision to give the deposit through cash app and he sent us a hand written contract receipt. He had been great about answering all of our questions and such. When I asked for him to call us because his number was busy to discuss the actual delivery he said no problem. We didn't get a call. I went to message him again and that's when I learned that he had blocked on messenger and on their page. I reported their page to FB prior to that and also . Hopefully this will help other who have been scammed. The name on their Cash App is was "Malik McCoy" .

I was looking for a miniature donkey and found the "James Farm Miniature Donkeys" page on Facebook. They had been posting for awhile and showed donkeys that had supposedly gone to their new homes. They had posted a few days prior that they had a mini donkey available. I messaged them for more information and photos. They asked about our home, how we would transport the donkey etc and told me the donkey was $850. They were local, so I asked if we could come see the donkey in person. They said they were busy with their other business. Since a snow storm had just come through making it difficult to travel, I agreed to put in a deposit. They asked for $350. I made the deposit through Zelle (you have no protection through Zelle btw, I don't recommend using it!). After that, I came across the report on this website and began to question whether I had been scammed. I asked to call and speak with them. They said they were in a rural area and could not receive phone calls. That is a lie, because they had given me a Boulder address which is NOT a rural area. I tried the number on their FB page and it was not working. I asked for my deposit back and they said I was "abandoning" the donkey but they refunded the deposit. I did not get my money back. They then blocked me on messenger and on their page. I reported their page to FB prior to that and also opened an IC3 complaint. Hopefully this will help other who have been scammed. The name on their Zelle was "Damien Richardson James" and the email was [email protected]

Found James farm miniature donkeys on Facebook. I texted the phone number and then a Facebook profile under the name Linda Hill Kimberly contacted me in regards to the deposit. We agreed upon two miniature donkeys 900 each, 350 deposit each, and 350 transportation fee. I asked for videos of each and they were sent. Both profiles seemed to be legit so I moved forward. They wanted the money sent through Zelle but luckily my bank does not work through Zelle so it was sent through PayPal. I was contacted a couple days later for Coggins test and asked to pay 220. I asked to pay at delivery and that was declined… Another 220 sent. I was asked to pay 350 delivery fee early so they could bring them the next day, otherwise it would have to be the next week…. Another 350. Day of delivery I was asked to pay $500 refundable insurance fee. I declined and they said the could not deliver. Called phone number and it wouldn’t go through, and call through Facebook messenger and a foreign gentleman answers. I asked to speak to his wife (who I had thought I was speaking to over messenger) and it seemed to be the same gentleman who tried to make his voice a higher pitch. I asked for more pictures and the coggins results and then I was accused of wasting their time. Googled the phone number and found various types of scams associated with it, with the same gig, different animal. I know I was naive, but I do understand that a deposit and coggins tests are a legitimate necessity. Hope this stops others from falling for it.
