I put an item for sale on Craigslist. Someone reached out to me from a weird area code (told me they just moved) and wanted to buy the item. Asked if I would accept a certified check. I said yes, planning to meet in person and go to their bank with them to verify it was a legit check. The next day they told me the check was in the mail for more than the amount of my item. I would need to deposit it and send money to their movers blah, blah, blah. Classic craiglist scam. I blocked their number and threw out the fake check. The check has been sent from Oklahoma and the check had a fake bank with a Maryland address on it.

He asked that I become his personal assistant from home but when I looked his number up I got a list of different people stating that he scammed them out of some money some years ago
