To this day I continue to promise he will come the next day and refund me - but I never see him nor do I see my monies. I received a very low quote from JD construction. I decided to sign the contract. I was asked to pay 50% of the contracted price. I negotiated to pay a lesser initial amount. I paid $2500 upfront ($2000) in a bank-guaranteed check and $500 in a personal check. I should have known that the quote and later contracted amount were too good to be true. JD Construction called me several times and asked me kindly to give them the job; I felt empathy (maybe they hit hard times). Also, I thought undoubtedly a business that wants a job this much will certainly deliver on their promises. Unfortunately, JD construction continued to give me the run around for several months. JD Construction would promise week after week that they would come, and there were plenty of sun shining days, but they never showed up. Scheduling a startup date with JD Construction has been a frustrating and time-consuming process. The company I feel indulges in unfair trade practices by keeping the consumer on hold for endless periods - promising to come and do the job and then countless times just not showing up. After several months of consistent no-shows to do the job and many excuses. I finally asked for a refund of all monies paid. Still, he would promise to come and give me my initial deposit back, and then he will not show up. JD Construction must have a book of excuses because they listed plenty of reasons - instead, they should make good on the contract and verbal agreements, show up, or refund the customer. I want to warn you not to believe the company's promises - I feel that I was scammed into believing they will do a job they knew they could never deliver on. In good faith, I paid my deposit to find out they will never show. To this day, JD Construction still has not refunded me yet. JD Construction keeps saying they will come by and refund me, but nobody shows up.
