One stood out, ADORABLE SHIHTZUS FOR ADOPTION, aka Jerry Tommy. They offered me an AKC registered Shih Tzu puppy for $450. This dog was to be registered, vetted, microchipped and they were to personally deliver it to my home. I later talked them down to $400 for the puppy.
They told me the money was to be paid in a deposit of $150 followed by $250 upon delivery. I agreed to this but told them as i was on social security they would have to wait until the 3rd of February. They were fine with this.
I worked my bills around and found i could come up with the full $400 then. They agreed to personal delivery on the 3rd between 12 and 2 pm. I put out puppy food and put down a pee pad and toys for her to play with. I texted and asked if they were on their way and they said yes. Shortly afterwards they texted me saying they had dropped the puppy off at a TRANSPORT COMPANY, "FLASHPICKUP.COM ". I told them that was not what we had agreed to, but they assured me it was safer and quick and would cost me nothing more.
Shortly later i received a text from the transport company saying there was a $500 refundable fee for the crate the dog must travel in. I told them i didnt agree to transport, and all i had was the $400 which was to be given as payment for the dog upon delivery. Supposedly the breeder and company worked things out and my 400 and 100 of theirs was to pay for the crate with my 400 being returned later to the breeder. They had me get a $400 prepaid Visa card as my bank was closed and all i had was cash. I sent them a copy of front and back of card and the receipt. I did this because i was assured the company was licensed and bonded. I was given a delivery time of 3:30. At 2:45, i received a text saying they had discovered the dog was not insured and per (some legal code they quoted) they could not continue with delivery until a refundable insurance fee of $1000 was paid. I again told them that first i had NO MORE MONEY and second, as i had not made the contract with them, any incidental expenses incurred would the responsibility of Jerry Tommy. They said i would not receive the dog until the insurance was paid.
On following days i heard from the transport company. Also, Jerry Tommy who supposedly went to court which cost $250, and had the dog transferred into my name. He sent me pictures of a room with police officers and a courtroom with a man in handcuffs supposedly validating his statements.
Regardless as of this date i have NOT received either my money or the puppy.
I tried contacting the customer service number for the transport company but it was disconnected and their email went back into their website.
