JCP&L employee with truck about to disconnect my electricity at my home, told me to call the main number of electric company to make payment and when I was done I should tell the JCPL rep to email him and he would stop the disconnection. The number he told me to call was 877-860-3081. I called them,  there was a real recording sounding like JCPL and I pressed the number for payment, got a person who told me that my account was 3 months overdue (I checked on my phone and it wasn't, my account was paid in full).. That man told me to go to a location in union and scan the QR code he would text me and make a cash payment. Since I knew my account was up to date I knew it was a scam at that point. But he did send me the QR code... not sure if this means he can get into my phone? I can't believe this scam - what happens if I go to the location and scan my QR code. ? How is this even able to happen?
