In May 2024 while searching for a Maltipoo puppy, I happened upon this website. The price was more than reasonable at $700 which included shipping. After contacting Jim Hardy via email, we sent the money to him via Paypal. He told me to send the money as "Family and Friends", rather than the normal business option, which I did. Well, there went my Paypal payment protection as it is not covered under Family and Friends. He told me the puppy would be shipped the next day accompanied by a Nanny. The day the puppy was to be delivered, I received a message from the courier 'statescourierservice.com' saying that I need to pay $880 for a thermal crate to protect the puppy and that it would be 100% refundable. I should have stopped there, but I paid the amount as I was anxious to receive the puppy that day. I was then told the payment came in too late and the puppy could not be delivered until the next day. The next day I received a message saying I needed to pay an additional $1200 to cover fees and permits required for delivery. I refused to do this and called Jim Hardy. I told him I was being scammed, and he had all kinds of excuses to buy more time. I told him to refund my money and the money I paid to his courier service, or I would file complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the Attorneys General for the states of Ohio and Kansas, and the FTC. He told me he would look into everything for me and to give him another 24 hours to straighten things out. I told him he was out of time and I would be filing the complaints that same day. He has not responded to my calls or emails since. By tracking the opening of my emails, I could see they were forwarded to California, Louisiana and Pakistan!! I'm embarrassed that I got duped, and I want to try to make sure no one else sends their hard earned money to this low life thief.

We found them on-line searching for a maltipoo puppy. We pait $700 via paypal, and were told it didn't go through. So we paid $700 via apple pay. We paid the extra $200 for an accompanying nanny with the puppy. Our plans changed and we said we could receive the puppy sooner than the original date. The next day, the puppy was supposed to be sent via the statescourierservice.com to Colorado from Ohio. We soon received a message stating that due to the duration of the trip, the curier service required a deposit for a thermal crate in the amount of $880. This was to allow for food and water and a climate controlled environmet for the puppy, as she had to fly from Ohio to Denver, and have a stop in Dallas. The crate rental fee was to be fully refundable upon delivery of the puppy. We were then told the payment came in too late and the puppy could not be delivered until the next day. We were assured the puppy would be delivered by 5 pm, that day. On the date of delivery, we received a message stating the puppy was at the Cortez Municipal Airport. The courier service said they needed the vaccination papers (which the breeder said they included) and a cite permit. We contacted the breeder (Jim Hardy) and he said he would look into it and get back with us. The courier service insisted on the cite permit. I didn't know what a cite permit was so I googled it. A CITES permit is for the transportation of endangered species internationally. It specifically states it is not required from state to state. The courier service said they could provide the necessary paperwork for an additional $1200. I was convinced this was a scam and my wife replied we were retired and could not afford the additional $1200. They said the puppy would be quarantined for 30 days and then returned to the breeder. I called Jim Hardy and told him he was a liar and a thief and I wanted my money back as there was no puppy. He said there was a puppy and wanted to know where she was. He said he would have to drive to the courier service and see what was going on as they were not answering their phones. I called the next day and there was no answer. I left a voice message but have not heard anything back. I also asked him early on why the puppy was noy marked as sold, and appeared still available. He said he asked his web manager to mark her as sold. I should also note even as of today, Sky is listed as 11 weeks old. She has been the same for about a month.
