[email protected] Reports & Reviews (1)

I came across the "job" posting on Indeed.com. It was for an "Entry Level Real Estate Agent" position at a company named "Zutila". The job description claims that Zutila will help you get licensed and will provide all the resources to succeed in real estate. I submitted my application and ~2 weeks later I was contacted (through Indeed) by someone named "Jim Forde" to schedule an "interview". "Jim Forde" claimed several different titles throughout the emails I received from him; "Hiring Manager", "Director of Education", "Director", "Education Director". I know some of those titles are essentially the same, but it is not normal to be so inconsistent about your job title and the way it is phrased.

I scheduled a Zoom video "interview" for the job (8-8-23 @ 6pm). I'm putting the word "interview" in quotations because that's not what it was. It was a "presentation" similar to an MLM and it was a GROUP video meeting, so there was ~15 other candidates on there. It was NEVER mentioned that it would be a group thing, OR that it was essentially just a presentation where they tell you how much you have to pay for the courses that will get you to a point of selling houses. ON TOP of this, "Jim" began the presentation stating "We are no longer named Zutila because no one knew the meaning of the word so we changed the name to 'Together Realty'. An absolute BAIT and SWITCH.

They are essentially claiming to be a "contemporary brokerage" that can provide you the 'education' needed to become a Real Estate Agent. The scam is that you will need to pay several HUNDREDS for their courses as well as ~$400/year for "Errors & Omissions" and ~$35 for a key fob to the "office". This was incredibly alarming to me because they never prove the legitimacy of their courses AND it is obvious they entice you by making you feel "special" for being given 'access' to their doors and a lot of other cool things that you have to "invest" in. There was no pre-requisite qualifications needed to move forward, just "email me, text me, call me to tell me you're joining the course". They will accept ANYONE. This is not NORMAL.

The day after the "interview" I decided to contact "Zutila" directly because I was still under the impression that Zutila was a legitimate business and that their name was illegally being used to lure people in. I contacted via phone/email and spoke with 3 different people throughout the communication. They claimed that "Jim Forde" is a disgruntled "ex-employee" and that he is using their name to attract people, but allegedly, according to the Zutila "broker" I spoke with, the courses are "legit" and that they plan to take legal action against "Jim" and "Together Realty". Something felt very "off" about my email/phone call exchanges with the "Zutila" people so I did more research and I firmly believe that Zutila is a FRAUDULENT business for MANY reasons and it is all a part of the long-con.

They used inconsistent business names "Zutila" "Zutila Realty" "Zutila, Inc", "Together Realty", "Radius". I understand that this can be normal in certain situations, but in this case, it is NOT and I believe it's a tactic they use to stay off the radar or possibly to confuse and manipulate their targeted victims (YOUNG, NAIVE, & impressionable people based on what I saw in the Zoom meeting). "Zutila" claims to be a "LUXURY" agency, however, I just don't think any of it is legit or real at all.

Please, please, please look into this further!!!! This situation is crazy for me to provide ALL the details but I hope I gave you enough.
